Revolut Launches Physical Crypto Debit Card as Crypto Payments Gain Momentum Across Global Markets. The fintech company announced its first physical crypto debit card on Monday. The launch comes as crypto card transactions continue to rise across the industry. Data from recent market reports shows that daily crypto card payments have crossed 100,000 transactions on multiple occasions since last year.

The new card carries a Dogecoin-themed design. It also features an LED display that lights up during contactless payments. Customers can use the card anywhere Visa and Mastercard are accepted. Revolut will first release the product in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area. Hungary, Switzerland, and Portugal are excluded from the initial rollout.

The company said users will not pay additional exchange fees when spending crypto through the card. However, transactions will still follow real-time exchange rates at the moment of payment. Revolut also warned that crypto card payments may create tax obligations because regulators often classify them as crypto disposals.

The card allows customers to spend directly from their crypto balances without converting assets into cash beforehand. Users can select a specific cryptocurrency balance or the “All crypto” option, which utilizes the highest available balance. Customers can also connect the card to Apple Pay and Google Pay for contactless transactions.

Revolut currently supports trading for more than 300 cryptocurrencies within its app. The company said customers can create a crypto card directly from the Crypto section of the platform. Users can customize the card label, select a design, and choose which token balance to use for payments.

The launch highlights Revolut’s broader push into digital assets and financial services. The company recently integrated the Polygon network to support remittances and staking services. Revolut also secured a banking license in the United Kingdom earlier this year and continues to pursue regulatory approval in the United States.
