In a significant move to support the Ukrainian community, global fintech company Revolut has made its app available in the Ukrainian language. This announcement on 11 December 2024 marks a crucial milestone in the company’s ongoing commitment to assist Ukrainians displaced by the ongoing war. Since 2022, Revolut has been offering vital financial services to refugees fleeing Ukraine, and this language update further strengthens its support for Ukrainian customers across Europe.
Adding Ukrainian as a supported language significantly enhances the user experience for over 700,000 Ukrainian customers who rely on Revolut for seamless financial services. This change ensures that Ukrainian speakers can now fully access the app interface, which will help make their financial management even more effortless. The largest Ukrainian communities using Revolut are in Poland (27%), Germany (17%), and the UK (6%).
Vlad Yatsenko, Founder and CTO of Revolut, expressed his pride in the company’s ongoing support for Ukraine. “Since the start of the invasion, we’ve remained committed to our support for Ukraine. Providing payment services to Ukrainian refugees allowed us to help when it mattered most, and adding Ukrainian as a supported language is the next step in further improving their experience with Revolut,” Yatsenko said.
Since the outbreak of the war in 2022, Revolut has facilitated the transfer of over 1 billion euros to Ukraine, with the majority of funds coming from countries such as Germany, the UK, Ireland, Poland, and the Netherlands. In addition to its financial services, Revolut has raised over £10 million for the Red Cross Ukraine appeal, including a £1.5 million donation from the company.
While Revolut does not yet operate within Ukraine, the company encourages Ukrainians to download the app and join the waiting list for updates on when services will become available. As many Ukrainians continue to face the challenges of displacement, Revolut remains dedicated to providing user-friendly, reliable financial support. The release of the Ukrainian language option in the app is just one of many steps Revolut has taken in its continued effort to support the Ukrainian community and deliver high-quality financial services to its users across Europe.
