Revolut Opens Private Markets to More Investors as the fintech company expands access to investment products that were once limited to wealthy individuals. Revolut expands access to private markets for more investors by introducing institutional funds, private banking services, and enhanced wealth management tools. The move aims to give retail investors more opportunities to diversify their portfolios through regulated investment products.
Revolut now allows eligible customers to invest in carefully selected private market funds managed by leading global firms. These include Apollo, Ares, Hamilton Lane, and Partners Group. The company says it has lowered entry barriers, making institutional-grade investments available to a broader group of investors.
The new investment offering covers private equity, private credit, and private infrastructure. Customers can access these products directly through the Revolut app. The expansion follows the ELTIF 2.0 framework under Regulation (EU) 2023/606, which supports regulated long-term investment opportunities for retail investors.
Revolut says the framework includes periodic liquidity windows. These features aim to balance access to private assets with investor protection while encouraging long-term portfolio diversification.
The company has also expanded its private banking services. These services target high-net-worth clients who meet a minimum investment threshold of £500,000. Eligible customers receive portfolio construction support, wealth planning, and investment guidance tailored to their financial goals.
Additionally, Revolut is enhancing its premium financial ecosystem by introducing its Ultra membership. The top-tier plan combines investment features with lifestyle benefits. Members can access airport lounge services, cash-back offers, and additional cryptocurrency trading perks, along with wealth management tools.
Revolut also offers advanced trading features for experienced investors. These include professional-level trading services, leveraged investment instruments, and discretionary portfolio management options.
The company says more than 85% of companies generating over $100 million in annual revenue remain privately owned. It believes broader access to private markets can help investors participate in opportunities that were once unavailable to most retail customers.
Revolut reminds customers that private market funds involve significant risks. These investments may be illiquid and can result in capital losses. Fund availability depends on local regulations, and customers must complete suitability assessments before investing. Terms, conditions, fees, and jurisdiction-specific requirements also apply.
